Question about copywork in Beyond

I'm a new homeschooling mom and have a question about copywork. My almost 6 year old is really loving our time doing BLH, but she doesn't really love doing the copywork! She's been doing it for a few weeks now and does it with a great attitude, but I'm wondering if I need to be correcting her when it comes to capitals/lowercase letters. She often will capitalize words that shouldn't be capitalized. I don't want to correct too much and discourage her further, since she's pretty sensitive to correction. But, is that the whole point of copywork? Am I trying to teach her all the mechanics at the beginning or will she get it eventually? Hope this makes sense!

We did Beyond last year when my son was 7, and I only had him write 2 lines or so a day of the poem. That might help her not to get as frustrated. I would say that, yes, the copywork needs to be corrected. If she is sensitive, then allow her to "edit" herself with you guiding her. Use questions like, "Now read this line for me. Do you see anything that needs to be capitalized (or punctuated)? Say, "Let's look at the poem. Does that look just like yours?"
I find that with my oldest son, when I allow him to self-edit, he doesn't get nearly as frustrated. I also read that this was a great way to get them to learn to check on their own and write better. So, I am trying it this year! Going well so far.
Hope that helps you!

It does help! Thanks so much. I read another post on the board about copywork that helped as well.
