IDK if I was RME or RL...

I have an almost 6yo that knows most letters by site, several by sound but really struggles with blending. I know she'd love the CD-Rom with RL, but I could use Starfall with RME. I have no idea how to choose which one. She's pretty resistant right now. But if I take her alone to curl up in my lap, she'll open up a bit.
How do I choose one?

There are actually quite a few older posts comparing the two. If you do a quick search, you'll probably find some helpful advice. I chose TRL because of what I had read. It has very little teacher-prep, which I need. We are on week two with it, and it is going very well.

I had a hard time choosing too and I finally just decided to go with TRL simply because it's less expensive.

Anway, I'm using it for the second time with my younger DS and it's awesome, I *love* it!! I can't say enough good things about it...short lessons, not-overwhelming, clean pages, you can pick your pace. And I'm using it without the CD too.

Hi Mumkins! They are both good phonics programs - maybe this thread could help?

I also wanted to mention that "The Leap Frog" videos did wonders for my dc. They are short (30 min., I think) and so cute, and they teach sounds and blending well. They are about $10 at Target, or they are available many places online too.

I liked having a way to encourage them without it being all me - KWIM?

Thanks Julie.
I decided to use something I have here instead of ordering my 7th or 8th phonics program
