Does Bigger have a study involving learning states & capitals and US Presidents or do I need to add that on my own?

Towards the end of Bigger, you learn the states and adding the capitols is optional. There isn't a president study per se, but you will be studying several presidents along the way as you study American history. If you want to actually learn all of the presidents, their order, and that sort of thing, you'll have to add that. :D

I just wanted to pop-in and let you know that there is a full-blown 50 state study scheduled in Rev2Rev. It studies each state and its bird, flower, seal, flag, famous people, economics, geography, capitol, location, trivia, history, etc. It is done from a Christian persepective. Then, in the new modern times guide, there will be a recommendation in the weekly schedule for a once weekly individual state study. We will recommend Joy Dean's state study from a Christian perspective, which we used with our own oldest son and really loved. :D The modern times guide will also include a President Study with completion of a President Notebook, and each President will be studied. :D

We chose to wait to do the state and President studies until the kiddos had a bit more exposure to history, so they would have a better understanding of the world and geography before doing a deeper study these important topics. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

We are doing RevtoRev, and it really very thoroughly covers the states! :D Wyatt loves this study, and is often saying, "Mom, did you know ____ (whichever state he is studying  ) is known for ___, grows ____, and had this crazy law way back when that said you couldn't ___." He is fascinated by it. I also really like all of the colored pictures he affixes to each state's study, and the little pictures he draws. It gives each state a splash of color. The stories told about each state are also very narratively written and very interesting. He told me the second week he was doing his State Study box that it was one of his favorite things to do. :D I just finished BHFHG with Riley, and I liked how that laid the groundwork for studying the states. So anyway, I think the way the states are studies is very interesting, memorable, and independent. Bigger Hearts lays the foundation, and RevtoRev builds on it beautifully, so you have that to look forward to as well. HTH! :D

In Christ,
Julie
