Hello Ladies! I wanted to share my dd's poem with you. We just finished week 4 of Beyond and she really loves the poetry. I love that she tried to write her own poem, in her free time, without any prompting from me! :D I will type it exactly as it looks on her paper, for the full effect (and you'll also notice a line borrowed out of the poem Uphill). I'm so proud of her efforts! :)

THE Leaves

The Leaves are really falling.
Falling from tree to tree. I like the
autumn colors. red, brown, and orange.
I see the autumn leaves. So many
months have passed. Until it's
Autumn. I know. I know. Summer is coming
to an end. but now I know. now I know
from morn to night my frend. School starts.
kcap starts. And leap of faith really
starts. Hba starts. awana starts. and mops starts.
And the birds will be migrating. South.
South. Summer vacation is coming to
and end.
Julie Potter

(for the curious...KCAP is her Chinese School, Leap of Faith is her dance school and HBA is our homeschool co-op)

That's so great!

My kids have enjoyed the poetry also, every week on day 5 when they can review any of the poems from previous weeks, it's been The Storm because they love doing the motions they made up to go with it - Thunder is crashing.... etc. It's been really great and enriching, even if my DD wishes she didn't have to copy it!
