Question about dictation in Bigger...

Hi! My 8-year old ds is currently in Bigger and doing great with it. I'm wondering if the dictation might be too easy for him though..... so far he hasn't made a single mistake (we're in unit 3). Do you think he should move up a level?

Have you tried moving him up say 5-10 passages? I'd just move him slowly though the level you are on till you find where he is still getting it, but its more challenging. Skip a few try again. etc.. If he keeps flying though them then maybe he does need to be at the next level.

I agree with the above poster. You could even sit him down and go through it orally having him spell the words in several passages throughout. If you think he needs the next level up, then go to the end of Level 3 and give him a few passages from there. If he passes them, make a big deal about starting level 4 (so he won't wonder why you tested him for nothing! LOL My kids are bad for that!) and move him up.
