Wow! Preparing Hearts is our 3rd HOD curriculum, and we've really enjoyed the first 4 weeks. However I just found out that we are expecting a new baby in April and began looking at how I could ajdust the units to get done a little sooner (for a long summer break!) without missing out on all of the good information. I blogged my approach at akschooltable.blogspot.com but wanted to pop by here to share my newfound appreciation for the box-style lesson plans and great literature. Because of the flow between the units, I feel like I will be able to combine and omit certain aspects without losing the key elements of the lessons. LOVE this flexibility!!!

Also, I have been on the HOD web page a gazillion times, but never noticed the message board link until recently. I wish I had found this last year when we started HOD. I have really enjoyed pouring over the past posts and threads. So much helpful info, and camaraderie!

Blessings to you and all of your students on your HOD journey!
Hillary

Many of the women on this board stop programs when there school year is "ended" and then just pick them up again in the fall to finish before beginning the next one. Is there a reason that you don't want to do this? Your children are on the young-end of the program anyway, so they certainly won't be behind. It might be an easier way to blend into the next school year as they would already be familiar with Preparing and returning to an old friend instead of starting a new adventure with a new "friend". I know there are always more than one way to accomplish school, but I thought I would throw this out just in case you had not thought about it. Congratulations on your new addition! Children are such a blesssing. Preparing is such a fun year!
