How do I know when a child has had enough handwriting practice in a handwriting books like a reason for handwriting.. I know the sceduled practice ends when a child starts beyond but are the copywork passages now in beyond to be done as "handwriting," working on how nice their print looks?? And if so, should I copy the poem passage into their style from their handwriting book??
When my dd does spelling and has to write a sentece with the word, do I only look to the spelling word to correct for spelling, or all the spelling errors now in the sentence??

We are just now in unit 8 of Beyond so I will answer these questions as I understand it from the guide and what I have seen.
Yes, the copywork becomes their handwriting practice. My DD needed lots of help still with the formation of letters, doing it properly, because I probably didn't do a good enough job of making sure she was doing it right and umm.... we didn't actually get through the whole K handwriting book either so she just made some of them up on her own. After spending the first 3 weeks or so really working on her form, and I do usually write the lines she is copying on the whiteboard for her, trying my best to use the proper form myself which I don't always do, she is now doing really really well with formation, and her spacing and size of letters and everything is really great! Her handwriting has gotten a lot better, smoother, and it looks nice.
The way I read the instructions on the spelling words, when there are sentences either they are only supposed to write down the word, not the whole sentence, or you write down the sentence and they copy it. My DD always wants to write the whole sentences so now I let her write some of them and when she makes a spelling mistake on one of the other words I do correct it. Most often this is when a word is not spelled phonetically or it has phonemes she doesn't know yet (P-H). But if you follow it the way it is written in the guide your child won't be writing sentences and having to spell them correctly. Just the words.
I hope this helps.

yes this helps,
I was just used to going from book a to b to c.. ect for handwriting practice each year with my oldest daughter. I do like that the handwriting is built into copywork at the same time vs seperate subjects like my oldest did.

For spelling in Bigger, on the day when the child uses the words in a sentence, I always write the child's sentences on a markerboard (as he dictates them to me), and then have the child copy the correctly written sentences on paper.
