You as the teacher can't wait for the next day. As well as my children keep forgetting to stop reading as they're enjoying it so much.

I know what you mean!! We took this week off from school and have been doing all kinds of other things (doctor appts, errands, park days)
and I am SO looking forward to getting back to our HOD on Monday!
I looked over the guides this afternoon and got so excited that we get to learn about Daniel Boone next week and my dd5 gets to start LHFHG full speed!
HOD is such a joy to use.

I agree! I just asked my dc how they liked the first of week or school and they both replied they loved it. When asked which thing they loved most, they had a difficult time choosing just one thing. When asked what they liked least, they had a difficult time coming up with an answer. My dd even asked if we could do school 7 days a week to which I promptly said "no". I do love it, but I like my weekends too. It's been such a great first week and I think the key has been using HOD. Even though it's a new guide with more things in it, the format is familiar so it was easy for my dc and myself to jump right back into the flow. I didn't prepare much for the first day of school, and I'm always a bit apprehensive wondering if I have everything ready to go. I shouldn't have been concerned at all. It was like sitting down and visiting with an old friend after not seeing them for several months. Welcome back old friend! :D

Mumkins,

I am so blessed and encouraged by your post! :D Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to share your joy. It encouraged my spirit today too, especially during a time of year where many moms are just starting out and are a bit overwhelmed with the start-up of school. It can be so easy to overlook the joys that come our way as we head back to our routine! So, this is a welcome post for my ears. :D

Blessings,
Carrie

Oh my goodness, yes! I just get giddy thinking about what we have to do for History or Poetry for the next day! :D I asked my nine-year-old what she thought of school this year and she says she loves it! She's really enjoying all of it! We sit on the couch every day, taking turns reading 'A First Book in American History' and I just think, "This is what we've been missing!" And she remembers what she reads when it's time for the timelines and journaling! It's just so exciting!

If we could get away with never doing a Math lesson again, our school year would just be perfect. ;) I'm already planning for next year with HOD and I'm so thrilled that I've finally found our fit! I won't be reselling this stuff!
