Preparing...How Much Time?

Okay, I have an 11 1/2 year old doing Preparing. This is our first year doing HOD. We specifically chose Preparing at the suggestion of several friends who say that has been their favorite guide for their children in terms of really growing a relationship with God. So we started there but added extensions. Here is our rough break down on time.....

Teaching Textbooks for Math (30 minutes)
Independent Reading (30 minutes) We are not yet doing DITHOR until we finish the Narnia series that we are reading together. We have 1 book left and then we will begin DITHOR.
Boxes in the manual-- 1 1/2- 2 hours

On most days he is just taking 2 1/2 hours to complete work. On days we do creative writing, we add another 30-45 minutes because he JUST LOVES this! (I know...a boy who loves to write...I am blessed.) He is also a very strong reader and I think that is why in part he gets through his reading with great comprehension of the subjects.

Am I missing something or is this about right for this manual with a strong reader and writer?

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10245

preparing is listed as 3 hours and 50 min as written if I'm reading Julies post right..

I have 2 45min teaching blocks one 30 min Dithor block and Two 45 min independent blocks, an done 30 min helping block for semi independent work scheduled. She is always done with time to spare.

Thank you for the link with all the times. It's good to know we're on target. I've been wondering if we're getting done "too soon" but we seem to be fine.
