This is our fourth year with it (wish I'd found it sooner), and we're using

Resurrection to Reformation with my sixth grade daughter

Preparing with my fourth grade son

Beyond Little Hearts with my second grade son


I do also have a kindergartener that I'm doing Sonlight with (just b/c I prefer to wait with Little Hearts for first grade, and she's already done Little Hands to Heaven a couple times).

My three year old and two year old listen in here and there. I haven't figured out how to fit in anything too structured with them, so they're just along for the ride with the big kids for the time being.

I wish there was a "like" button for me to click, because these are my feelings exactly. We're just about done Unit 3 of Bigger, and it's really been a blessing to us!!!

I so love the book choices... all the reading that the various guides give us. In fact, we like them so much that I read the extension readings to the kids, too. Sometimes we do those in the evening. In fact, I just finished reading Forbidden Gates to my oldest daughter tonight. She has activities going on Monday through Wednesday of this coming week, so we do some of our together work in the evening.

My oldest son (and my husband) is so thankful that he is homeschooled because the flexibility allows him to help my husband in his work during the day. He often does some schooling in the evening too, so that he can spend the morning and/or afternoon working in the shop with my husband, learning about (and actual hands on work too) various farm equipment. Once they start the harvest, he will likely work with my husband even longer hours.

I can't begin to express how well homeschooling fits our family and how thankful I am for this life God has blessed us with.

Oh, and back to the book choices... Storytime is BY FAR all of my children's favorite part of school (and mine too!). I can't wait to get to the adventure genre with my second grader so that I can read Snow Treasure for the THIRD time. I don't think I'll ever tire of that one... not even with six kids! I toyed with reading Come On, Seabiscuit (which I've never read) instead, but I just LOVE Snow Treasure! We'd all be happy to be curled up together on the couch the entire day reading, I think.
