2 Possible Plans for My Little One

Post by my3sons » Sun Aug 28, 2011 8:04 pm

I've been thinking of my little one and wanting to plan ahead for him. I'd like to have him doing a guide each year by the time he gets to PHFHG. We take our summers off, so some planning is necessary for this to happen. :D I tried to plan ahead like this for Riley, but it didn't work because I didn't consider changes that could be needed in pacing. So, I decided to map out 2 plans for my little guy - an aggressive one, if he is going great guns happily and if I am up for that too; and a less aggressive one, if he would enjoy a more leisurely pace and if I would enjoy that too. :D I still reserve the right to do something totally different than either one of these plans, because only the Lord can truly know what the future holds. But, I thought it might be interesting to share just to show how HOD's flexibility of going half-speed or full-speed can really make many plans successful, depending on a family's goals...

Anyway, I just thought if this could be of any help to anyone else trying to look down the road, it may be worth sharing. Plus, if I lose my copy I can always find it back here on the board.

In Christ,
Julie

P.S. I'm leaning toward the less aggressive plan.

Love it Julie! :D I've thought through this with my younger ones, too. Only I used a little post-it note...and I'm pretty sure I've changed my "plan" along the way, too. Our goal is to hit a guide per year in Preparing as well and before then it's pretty flexible.

All I can say is WOW, woman can you ever plan! And I mean that as a compliment! I boggled my brain just trying to figure out if my soon-to-be-5 year old and my 2.5 year old could ever be in the same guide! I never did resolve that one, but look at you go!
