Starting on LHFHG...

Hi, friends!

We are starting the journey in school with LHFHG at half-speed for K. We are adding in Art and Spanish, and are excited about our journey. We had been doing LHTH, but were adding in so much (ARFH K, Singapore Math) since DD really was measuring in the placement chart for everything but History. I was starting to feel like we really needed to get back to HOD as written. We did Unit 1, Day 1 right side today, and she did fine on the history.

It's amazing what a difference a couple of months makes. At the end of last school year, she was not retaining much. Now, she's asking to do school and today really embraced the concept of history being "His-story."

Thank God! I was starting to really wonder what we were going to do; we had not been on the forums for a while because I was unsure what we were going to do. I think we're ready to go now!

Yeah Heidi! That's wonderful to hear. It's so true, especially at that age, that a couple of months make a huge difference in maturity and what they can handle. I'm so glad that you have found your perfect fit and are off on your journey to wonderful school year! :D

Yay. :D I'm excited for you. I finished Unit 5, Day 4 with DS today and am appreciating it more and more as I go along.

Well, we didn't have the best day today. Suffice it to say that DD was resistant to going through the school, and I think it's obedience issues rather than the curriculum. Once we got past pencil activities to the playtime, it was better, but it revealed to my husband and me that we have heart issues to contend with. :(
