I have a child who fits perfectly for the Extension package but other than reading the material and doing oral or written narrations I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to follow up with the books and the schedules listed?
Thanks, Jerian

We are doing the CTC storytime books as scheduled and written , but I am having dd also read the extension books and we have a "Day 5" follow-up on the reading. I am letting her decide each week how she wants to "catch me up" on what she has read. We did this with Preparing too. Sometimes she will draw something and tell us about it, sometimes she will write out a timeline, sometimes just narrate. It varies. I like the idea of her writing a letter to someone explaining what she's read too. Different from a typical written narration. Anyway, the point is since we are doing the extensions as just extra reading, I am being more flexible about the follow-up output.

I have my kids orally narrate the extension packs and I have them read a small portion of it aloud to me. It helps with comprehension as well as just checking on their reading. The oral narration really does show you that they have read and learned.
