Fun first day of school with DITHOR

Today was our first day back and we did our genre kickoff for DITHOR. I gave dd 5 minutes to gather 5 things in a bag that gave us a glimpse into who she is. I took a picture of her with her things and videotaped her telling me about them and about herself. I thought this was such a fun project for the first day of school--I think I will make it a yearly tradition! How sweet it will be to look back on these precious keepsakes .

How fun! Good idea to do that to start the year.
I used to skip the "kick-off" for DITHOR but once I started doing them I realized how much fun they are and how much the children like them and it really does set the stage for the upcoming genre.
