Fun first day of school with DITHOR

Post by VAmomto4 » Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:43 pm

Today was our first day back and we did our genre kickoff for DITHOR. I gave dd 5 minutes to gather 5 things in a bag that gave us a glimpse into who she is. I took a picture of her with her things and videotaped her telling me about them and about herself. I thought this was such a fun project for the first day of school--I think I will make it a yearly tradition! How sweet it will be to look back on these precious keepsakes :) .

How fun! Good idea to do that to start the year.
I used to skip the "kick-off" for DITHOR but once I started doing them I realized how much fun they are and how much the children like them and it really does set the stage for the upcoming genre.

Sounds like you are making wonderful memories! That's one of the incredible things about homeschooling--all the bonding and memory-making that takes place between us and our sweet children!
