I have decided

Since I know you all were just sitting on the edge of your seat waiting to know. LOL I have decided to do Beyond at half speed. I think as my son matures into it more he will get so much out of it and he will be ready for Bigger. The only sad thing is that I won't get to order Bigger next year which makes me sad as I LOVE LOVE LOVE box day. :(

Now just to wrap my brain around how. I am thinking I will still do story time at the full speed pace so that means different storytime readers but I have others here that are recommend and I could order those and at least get a small box. ;) I will also do the emerging readers at full speed as I think it's important for him to read every day. But not sure what I will do for readers next year but I will figure it out depending on how well he is reading then. I am not sure about math yet though. I just don't think at the speed we were going that he was getting the full benefit of the hands on stuff and the LA or poetry.

Also I think this will make him at a better age when he gets to the higher guides. He is only 6 and that puts him at the lower age of the guide.

Thanks for letting me write it all out here somehow that helps me when I see it like this.

Sounds like a great plan to me! May your year be blessed with special memories! My son was 7 when we did Beyond, but I agree that at 6, I would have had to go half speed. Blessings!

I think this sounds like a good plan! :D One thing I always remind myself about half-speed, half-speed can become full-speed at any time that dc show themselves ready for it. With all of our dc, I think the only guide I have done completely half-speed for 2 years has been LHTH. With all of the other guides, there has been a point when it was just obvious they were ready and needing full-speed. I can always tell when because I am contemplating adding more. So, you never know, you just may end up getting Bigger Hearts next year - it may just not be at the start of the year! HTH! :D

In Christ,
Julie
