I don't want to use the wrong pen on the notebook pages and have the ink smear or not dry properly. What is the best type of pen to use on these pages?

Ww have had success with a good ballpoint pen. One of my daughters did fine with a quality number 2 pencil as well, because she didn't want to have to cross out if she messed up.

If we're using pen, we just use a cheap Bic pen. I often have them use pencil, though.

Our daughter uses a fine point black Sharpie marker, and that worked well all last year, and this year so far!

OOOOOh! I bet this would make a nice, dark line for maps, etc. My children tend to still do lots of erasing, so I think we'll have to wait to do that until sometime in the future!

We've always used pencil, as our dc make errors still.

This year, I am trying a new Sharpie product though. It is supposed to be a clicky, unbreakable "Sharpie Liquid Pencil that writes and erases like a pencil, dries like a Sharpie". I only bought 2, because they were more spendy than normal clicky pencils. We'll see how it goes!

Julie

Wow, that sounds neat, Julie! Those must've been what I was looking at at Walmart, when I was trying to find our usual fine point Sharpies. I wasn't sure what they exactly were, so I didn't get them. Now I kinda wish I had!

Uniballs! I do have to use a little white-out sometimes for the youngest, but it looks so nice. I also have them do a rough draft first and then just copy, which you may not be interested in. it really helps here with concentrating on handwriting only after you have already have your thoughts down (note: I don't think this is the intended practice.). I just let them use pencil if they want to in their science notebooks, because, for us, that would be overload to have to recopy that too. I try to be reasonable.

The Sharpie liquid pencil is great!

We tried it, and it is really neat. We've loved all of our HOD notebook pages, and the RevtoRev ones are of such an amazing quality - like artwork - really.

I know many dc use pens, and some use pencils, but the Sharpie Liquid Pencil is like a cross between the two. It is mechanical, #2 equivalent, it erases, and it does NOT break. Ahhh, I do believe I have found my new favorite school product! Just had to share.
In Christ,
Julie

After reading your earlier post I decided to get these to try. I just tried it tonight, and it is really neat. It is like a pen to use yet it's a pencil and erases easily. I think I'm right there with you on my favorite new school product.

What a fantastic idea and product! I hope I'll be able to find refills for the liquid graphite easily. Thanks for sharing Julie!
