Which DITHOR?

I bought it, but we never really got into it before, so my 2/3 book is pretty much unused. My DD is 5th grade this year. Should I:
Use 2/3 for her this year, 4/5 for 6th and 6/7/8 for 7 and 8 so she covers all books?
Use 4/5 for 5 and 6/7/8 for 6,7 and 8?
or
4/5 for 5 and 6, 6/7/8 for 7 and 8?

I see that you will be doing Preparing so you will only get through 1/2 of a level this year to use it as scheduled so I think perhaps your last plan is best. I would think in 5th grade she would probably be ready for level 4/5 so using that this year and next then using level 6/7/8 for 7th and 8th grade seems like a good fit.

Thanks:) I thought they went all the way through the student book each year.

In Preparing, DITHOR is only scheduled 3 days each week to allow one day a week for creative writing. So that means only 5 genres covered this year. I'm not 100% sure but I think that is the way it is scheduled in the next couple of guides as well for pretty much the same reason. So this year we'll just get through 5 genres using level 4/5 then next year well do the remaining 4 plus repeat a favorite one.

I think you came up with a good plan already, but I have to say I just had to have a chuckle about this. My dh asked what kind of things we talk about on the board here, and this is a great one to share with him. Picture the cartoon character with the googly eyes bugging out.

We homeschool moms really do have our own language we speak, don't we? All those numbers and letters and mnemonics... no wonder no hubbies venture on the board... English is not necessarily spoken here.
In Christ,
Julie
