Shepherds headdress in CTC ?

My boys are supposed to make the shepherds headdress today and I'm a little confused as what it's supposed to look like after you put the straws on. Theirs ended up with a kind of square shaped hole between each two straws. Is this what is supposed to happen? Any advice or even pictures would be helpful. Thanks a lot.

Here is the best picture we have. Excuse the fact that my son is not wearing a shirt. Last year, he sometimes chose to work on school late at night to get ahead (after younger brothers were asleep). This was what had happened when we took this picture.

Thanks a lot. That's just what I was looking for. It looks great. :D Ours look a lot like that but the straws are mismatched and I'm not sure yet what we're going to use for the material.

I understand completely about the lack of a shirt. I've so often taken pictures and then later realized that the boys weren't really dressed properly- no shirts, or the younger ones had no pants. Not a big deal for family but when you want to share with someone else it makes you think twice.

Great picture!

My son's shepherd headdress does not look quite that good...maybe it was the baby blanket with teddy bears on it that he used that kind of "softened" the feel. Ha! But anyway, my son has been wearing his headdress around the house, most of the day, everyday since MONDAY. He absolutely loves it. Wonderful project! (And my 2 year old loved the Hebrew meal...as you can probably imagine!)

Hi Morning Glory,

You must be close to where we are in CTC. We just had our meal today. Our headdresses didn't look quite as nice either since the only material I could find was flowered. :? The boys had a lot of fun anyway. We decided that the meal would be our lunch so the whole family participated and I made improvised headdresses for the younger boys.
