Unique situation question

My family is in a unique situation where we have a "split" family. I have a 4 year old son in LHTH, a 7 year old daughter in Beyond, an almost 9 year old step daughter in Beyond and a 13 year old step son in RTR. My two stepchildren are with my family one week and with their mom and their family one week. My stepchildren's other family has an almost one year old son, a 3 year old daughter and a 5 year old daughter in LHFHG. We are starting our almost 9 year old in DITHOR. I saw in another post that DITHOR is scheduled 3 days a week in PHFHG. Do you do the 5 day "project" over the span of 2 school weeks then? Do you think it would be doable to just do the 5 day project during a M-F week so they can do the project at just one house? Does anyone have any other suggestions on how we (both houses) can manage scheduling the guides and not overwhelm ourselves. I'm open for ideas :)

I'd give it a try and see how it works. :)

In Preparing DITHR is scheduled just 3 days a week to allow more time for the creative writing that is done on one day of the week. So if you are doing both of those things on one day then your day might be a bit longer than usual. Generally the project is something that can be worked on a bit one day and a little more the next. Sometimes it is something that actually takes a whole week like exemplifying a particular character trait each day. Either way I think you could go ahead and do it in one calendar week so that you wouldn't be dragging supplies and such back and forth between houses. I think it is awesome that you work together and manage to keep the school time consistent from week to week. :D

Thank you for the encouragement and the information about DITHOR in Preparing, it helps. I am enjoying homeschooling and am glad that we found HOD. With having two girls in the same guide at 2 different houses at times, we do lose flexibility because we need to keep the same schedule at both houses, it is trying at times. Hopefully we have found a way to make it work. Thank you again.
