I need some help on what to order..please help me

Post by cupcakevicki » Mon Aug 15, 2011 1:00 pm

Ok..I am ready to order this curriculum..I have a 9 year old, and a 7 year old. I would love to know what Drawn into the heart of reading books to get..I am confused about the 2/3, 4/5 etc;... I am thinking the 2/3 would work for both of them..but not sure. I am kind of thinking my son (7) is an emerging reader, and not an independant reader, but I almost want to go ahead and get DITHOR for him..that way we only have one program. Does one teacher workbook work for all the levels?? Would this work?? Any thoughts please.. Thank you so much!!!

DITHOR is a book you can use up to 8th grade. Since its is by genre the questions are broken down for each reading level. So you can teach them together next year... and all the years following :-) they do not need to be reading the same book for the questions to work.
I would say if your son places in emerging readers I would have him just do those. The amount of writing required can be daunting to a 7 year old. I find its just the right amount for my 9 year old tho she does find it challenging at times.
The work books are consumable for each level. I noticed in preparing DITHOR is not scheduled every day, since it can be time consuming I'm glad of that. We will probably only use one book pack for 2 years.
