I am confused with Unit 1, Day 1 of Science Explorations in Preparing.
Page 48 of the book has a map to copy. There is a VERY small blue area that highlights the tundra. Ok, so that's the tundra.
But it says the green area is the type of area where the square is found. Huh? The square is in the tundra. So...the green area is tundra, too? Or just the blue? And what's the difference? Anyone?
Is it just the blue? Or the blue and the green? If not, what IS the green?

Preparing: Arctic Tundra question(s)
Re: Preparing: Arctic Tundra question(s)
Hi Rebecca,
You are very observant...we just did this lesson today, too, and I didn't even notice that! I think it is a mistake. After doing a bit of research just now I am pretty sure that the green part is the tundra, and the smaller blue section would be a place where the specific "small square" in the book might be located. That would be my guess, anyway. Hope the rest of your day went well!

I wonder if anyone else has noticed this problem? I think you're corect. I think it's reversed.

OK, that's crazy. I didn't even notice it, and we just did it for the second time! Both times my kids just colored (the part in the book that is circular and green) blue on their own map and didn't even pay any attention to the bluish/purple square!
I'm off to do some research on where exactly that tundra is...

Re: Preparing: Arctic Tundra question(s)
We did this last week and my ds did not color his picture in, because he said that there was no blue area, only a green one
After reading it myself, I figured it had to be that area, so I told him: "Perhaps in the original printing of the "Arctic Tundra" book the area was printed in blue"
Anyway, we are loving Preparing and I hope that some of you ladies will be able to take pictures of your kiddo's work and post them in the Week-in-Review. I love to see the finished product of other kiddo's.

This is what we did. It's been a while, but I think we must've just ignored the sentence that mentions the green area.gotpeace91 wrote:OK, that's crazy.
