I'm so glad that the Lord led me to HOD before I had a chance to become a real, big purchasing curriculum junkie.

I wish I could say the same. Luckily all the good stuff on my shelf Carrie seems to write into HOD and use it in ways I never thought of before. But I will say it is nice to not be searching anymore and using HOD has saved me from making a lot of useless good intentioned purchases since we have been using it. Unfortunately I was like a tornado before HOD. I don't have to look anymore for the next best thing. I know whatever HOD incorporates will be perfect for us. It is a huge relief.

We would be omitting the Beginner Section of each lesson and using the upper level material that comes after the Beginner Section. These include the upper level text, the blue boxes (with activities), the burgandy boxes (with questions to answer), and the green boxes (which are the challenge sections for older students in grades 6-8). We would also require some vocabulary words to be done weekly (from the lesson, using the glossary in the back of the science book). Happy perusing!

I absolutely love AIG!
We are currently working with the Heat and Energy. The experiments/challenges are very easy to set up and most things can be found right around the home. We worked with the older version of Weather and Water, just picking out lessons that would complement Kasey's weather lap book. During the summer we pulled lessons from the Water section as we briefly studied the ocean. These books are very very easy to work with, but offer enough challenge for all levels.
