thank you SO much...for your prayers and your responses...

I have started trying to have a "date night" with each of my children every 2 weeks or so, we rotate. This is going very well. And yes, I just read about Suzanna Wesley last week and learned this about her spending 1 hour each day with each child....confirmation for me, I think! I am going to (by HIS divine grace) try to implement this somehow throughout the day. Blessings!

This is a wonderful post and part of why I love this board so much. I, too, clash with my oldest son and I feel terrible about it. It is nice to hear that others struggle with this too! I mean, I don't wish it on any of you, but I surely am glad to see that how we clash doesn't just make me a terrible mother. I know that none of you are terrible mothers! I have my times of yelling, frustration, tears - mostly with my oldest son, as I said.

I will be praying for each of you - and I hope you will include my oldest son and I in your prayers as well. We have come a long way through homeschooling and truly, through using HOD, but as he gets closer and closer to being a teenager and I get closer and closer to peri-menopause (starts early in my family), it is clear that we have a long way to go!
