I'm going to have to check out some of these books, too. It usually seems like I have way more time to read while I'm nursing.

I love historical fiction! I realy enjoyed The Meeting Place. I think it was by both T. Davis Bunn & Janette Oke

I've also enjoyed some of Lori Wick's books - especially the Rocky Mountain Series. To Know Her By Name was my favorite of these, and more of a mystery.

I love to read a little too much. If I'm really into a book, it's hard for me to do anything else! Looking forward to checking some of these out. I enjoy reading paranormal romances the most, but I like to balance them out with Non-fiction, biographies, etc.

I just finished Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala. It was an engrossing read that got me really excited about the power of prayer. I can recommend that one and I noticed he has a few other books that may be similar.

I've read The Shack by William P. Young but I really wasn't a fan. I didn't think the importance of Jesus dying on the cross came through enough. Several others in my book club enjoyed it though.

I am fascinated with the Amish too. I have read all the non-fiction books my library has on the Amish people.

I love to read and have read most of the authors and books mentioned here. I second the Cape Light series by Thomas Kinkade. Lately I also have been on an Amish reading spree. There are several authors now that are writing Christian Fiction about the Amish and I think I have read them all. When things are too stressful I always tell my dh, ok I am going up to read, I need to escape to the Amish world for a while. CBD has a christian fiction catalog they put out and that gives lots of ideas.

I thought of a couple more I've really liked:

Karen Kingsbury - especially the 3 series about the Baxter family. I can't think of the name of the books right now but they were really good

Brock and Bodie Thoene - they have several different historical fiction series that are all really good. My favorite is the one set in WWII about several different Jewish families & those who helped them during the Holocaust. The first book in that series is Vienna Prelude and then there are 5 or 6 others in that series.

I am finishing up Jane Austen The Complete Novels. I am in the middle of Sense and Sensiblity. I enjoyed them all: Mansfield Park, Emma, Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, and Lady Susan. Warning: They are hard to put down when you need to be cleaning the house! Only Pride and Prejudice left to read (I've seen the movie.)

I think the Theone serieses (I don't think that's a word lol) are Zion Covenent and Zion Chronicles. They are pre and post WWII and I have read both of them many, many times each. They're really great stories. I read them first in high school and still enjoy them.

I'm in the middle of Sense and Sensibility too! :D I'll be thinking of you reading it too as I do now. :) So far, I have read Pride and Prejudice, Persuasion, and Dear Susan (a less known book of hers that later became one of her novels - Northanger Abbey I believe.) Have you seen the 6 hour movie version of Pride and Prejudice? It's my favorite version thus far. Both the Persuasion movie versions, and the Sense and Sensibility movie are excellent as well. Austen is inspiring to me when I feel like writing too. I like to read Austen before revising my writing, and I always think it's time to attempt to "Jane-ify" my writing at that point ("attempt" being the key word here, as her precision with words seems completely unattainable). Her writing is an inspiration to me. :D Anyway - too fun we're both in the middle of finding out how Elinor and Marianne will find that sense and sensibility both have a place in their all-consuming task of finding love. :)

I love Jane Austen too! I have a complete set of her works. I also own 2 Pride & Prejudice movies, 2 Emma movies, and Sense and Sensibility. Wish we lived closer so we could get together and watch them. :) None of my friends are really that into her.

I second the Brock & Bodie Thoene novels ....I learned 80% of what I know about European history from these great books and it never felt like I was learning as it was such a strong beautiful storyline with great characters.....The Zion Chronicles and The Zion Covenant are their best series I have read. They have a few good series set in American history (18/1900's) also.
