I'm going to stick with it. I'm doing Bigger on a 4 day schedule so we'll go into 3rd grade with 2B. That will give us plenty of time to work in extra practice as needed.

Public school does teach learning the math facts quickly. My girls both went through ps until 3rd and 4th grade. I have no idea why the public schools think this way. My girls never truly learned their math facts with the speed drills and memorization method. They could do the quizzes and such but wouldn't get the method behind math when it started to get harder. In fact, this was always a contest and rewards given to those that learned them faster and passed the quizzes by a certain date. It really doesn't fit all kids to learn this way.
I would suggest getting the Home Instructor's Guide. The 2a/2b has a schedule and it includes what manipulatives you should be teaching with and extras to use. http://www.singaporemath.com/v/vspfiles ... hig2a1.gifThis looks invaluable when teaching without using the activities from HOD. http://www.singaporemath.com/ProductDet ... =TechSpecs I know that I plan to buy the HIG's, textbook, and workbooks from now on to teach Singapore.
I am teaching 2a/2b right now with the activities and workbook using BHFHG and I plan to get the HIG's as soon as payday gets here and will continue to use them from now on out as we journey through the Singapore levels.
