What are you adding to HOD if anything in the fall?

This is where new posts begin. All questions or discussions about any of Heart of Dakota's curriculums start here. If you wish to share a one-time post about your family's experience with our curriculum, you may post under the specific curriculum title (found beneath this "Main Board" heading).

That classics for kids site is great! Thanks to whomever posted it. We are totally going to start using it!

HOD is a wonderful program as is, so all we are adding is elective type stuff. We always check out around 20 books/week, so we'll keep going that next year, as well as going to story time at the library and other free library events. :D C will possibly be going to a 1 day/week homeschool PDO where she'll get electives. We also will go to our homeschool group every other Friday for enrichment and field trips. I'll be teaching music again this year there!

Specifically, we add Artistic Pursuits once a week, La Clase Divertida for Spanish, and some math games from RightStart Math. And that's about it! :D

Oh-I'm also going to TRY to be more consistent with teaching C piano lessons. I started her when she was 3 and just haven't been consistent. I feel so guilty since my degree is in music, specifically in piano pedagogy.

I am going to have everyone do Apologia Zoology 1/2. We are working on 1 right now. I am trying to get the younger two involved but so far it's just been my oldest. I would like to keep it to once maybe twice a week. My younger two will be doing 100 EZ lessons together and I have added Hearts and Hands from CLP to it. A friend gave me her copy and they both want to work out of it. I bought another copy so they both can have a workbook. :) I also have fun stuff that has nothing to do with the curriculum and it's more gamey. I found lego simple machinesto go with everyone, an Uncle Wigglys board game, pizza fraction games, cursion rod activies.
