Hi everyone! Finally made it...my intro :0)

This is where new posts begin. All questions or discussions about any of Heart of Dakota's curriculums start here. If you wish to share a one-time post about your family's experience with our curriculum, you may post under the specific curriculum title (found beneath this "Main Board" heading).

Thank you soooo much for the welcomes! I am sure I will have more questions as we get closer to starting :)

I will tell you tho...I am half tempted to look at the older grades for my ds (although I am SET for this year already!)...lol..and just might figure out where to place him. I am using MOH and Apologia for science and history and am also going to teach American history through living books...am I crazy? lol

So for my 9 yr old would you hypothetically go with preparing or bigger?

Amber,

We switched more than halfway through the year. And honestly I do not and know that I never will regret it. We actually had HOD on the side for my younger kids to another program that was the height of my frustration last year. I realized that HOD was easy, fun, my kids were learning more and it brought me peace in place of frustration. So I switched my two littlest and then realized, duh, I want this for all my kids. Thankfully Carrie was very generous with her time in helping me make a plan and we have never looked back. (What we do BTW is still study the OT but do HOD as our core).

So I think you are actually not crazy but just finding sanity. Seriously I do not think you would ever regret it. You could still add Apologia if you wanted. And I will tell you I do really like MOH but it is not the same kind of deal as HOD. Plus I know you are the super mama with all the homemaking things you do. There is something to be said for having it all done for you and having the extra time just to enjoy your lovies. 8)
