A friend of mine let her kids use a chart too, but she put it in their bedroom on a different level of the house from where they did school.... so they had to remember the answer all the way back to their workbook. She said they had their facts down within a week so they wouldn't have to keep running back and forth!

I love that idea MomtoJGJE!!! And if they don't remember in a week or two - they are working on PE! Seriously though - that is a fantastic idea.
And I have read places that using a chart is fine - especially if kids understand what they are doing but are just going slow. And studies have definitely shown that kids will learn their facts just by checking the chart.

Good idea if you kids want to use the chart but are being lazy about remembering! It would defeat my purpose of speeding up the math though!
