To hold back or not to hold back....THAT is the question!

This is where new posts begin. All questions or discussions about any of Heart of Dakota's curriculums start here. If you wish to share a one-time post about your family's experience with our curriculum, you may post under the specific curriculum title (found beneath this "Main Board" heading).

Thanks again for all your heartfelt advise. I agree with many of you. We'll definitely not be registering him! :)

Tiffanie,
I am in Florida too. In FL Kindergarten is NOT required unless you are planning on putting your child into public school for 1st grade. Also, when you register with your county school board, you do not register for a "grade "level". I would HIGHLY recommend that you read up on FL state laws concerning homeschool. You can do that through HSLDA at http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Florida.pdf .

Our homeschool laws are not burdensome but you do need to be aware of what they are and your rights as a homeschooler. I know that isn't what you asked for but something that you need to know. :D

I would do what others have suggested and just take it slow and move up the pass if you and your son want to.
