Finishing up LHFHG

Post by MomtoJGJE » Fri Jul 05, 2013 10:48 am

Julianna has two more units of LHFHG left. We did a large portion of it half speed, so she's been working out of that guide for about two years now. The half speed was not for her benefit, it was to separate her and Grace out a bit so that they wouldn't be overlapping guides. Julianna was fully capable of full speed LHFHG, but had I kept her full speed they would have been only about 20 units apart in guides. They started out combined, but Grace's abilities took off and Julianna's weren't there yet. Of course about 6 months later Juli took off ;) But keeping them separated is best.

She'll be starting Beyond at half speed sometime in August. We are taking two weeks off because they have choir camp and vbs. (I guess I should say we school year round for those who don't know ;) ) We are going to go half speed, not because she needs it, but because I want to get more space between her and Grace. Grace is only 12 units in to Bigger. She'll do full speed math and spelling/LA. I am going to time out the ERs so that she can start DITHOR when Grace and Jayden finish the cycle next time.

I'm really sad :) My third baby is growing up. She's officially a first grader, will be starting Beyond half speed in August, and is losing teeth :(

I have a toothless first grader too. I feel your pain - and your joy. It is bittersweet, isn't it? Every year our dc grow and I feel a big mix of emotions - celebrating it and tearing up over it! I'm going to celebrate with you now though - A BIG CONGRATS ON FINISHING UP LHFHG! :D :D :D A job well done. A determined mom with a super plan ahead - I love to read posts like this. Way to go - forge the way - another year of celebration and tears awaits! :D
