Preparing - Unit 34 Day 2 History Project?
We tried to make our submarine today and couldn't figure out how to do it. We cut a straw in half and placed a ball of clay on the end. We then placed it in the water bottle, clay ball down into the water. Then the directions say to "Remove clay until the submarine is floating just below the water's surface". How do you remove the clay if it is down into the water bottle? Are we reading it wrong? Would love to hear if this one worked for you and how you did it!

Re: Preparing - Unit 34 Day 2 History Project?
I had to ask my dc how they did it.
Unfortunately I couldn't remember. What they said they did is put the straw with clay in and see how it floated, then removed it and took off some of the clay and put it back in the bottle. They kept doing that until they got the right equilibrium of the "submarine" in the water. HTH!
