Geography guide layout?

Post by deltagal » Thu Apr 04, 2013 10:51 am

Hi all,
Carrie may have posted the possibilities on this and I've missed it, if so could someone point me in the right direction for the information?

What will be the layout for the new guide? What subjects will be on the left side and what will be on the right? We're trying to finalize decisions for the "new" school year and I think knowing this will help us decide. :D

My 14 yo places in the new guide, BUT I feel a very strong pull for him to cover the history in RTR ( he has already completed most of the right side of RTR). I was planning for him to do the new guide's logic and language arts and possibly science. It occurred to me this a.m. that perhaps these subjects are all on the right side of the new guide and for simplicity he could do left side RTR and right side new guide. It just depends on what' is where.

Thanks in advance. I'm always grateful for input....
With Joy!

I know Carrie is working on that now, and it will be quite similar in format and appearance to the current HOD guides. However, I also know you are looking for more details than that, and that she will be glad to answer this as time allows! I'm getting excited to see this too, and I know it will be shown on the Internet eventually too. :D I'll let Carrie know about your post here, Florence.

Hi Julie,

How very kind of you to "notice." I know y'all are crazy busy. You are very much in my heart and prayers. I'm so thankful for all the good things that are happening in the HOD world. In the event that Carrie does post a response I'll ask one more question. Do you foresee anything problematic with this plan?

Freshman year - left side RTR - right side Geography
Sophomore - left side Rev to Rev - right side World or left side Geography guide right side World
Junior - left side MTMM - right side Early American or Early American Guide complete
Senior - left side Geography - right side Modern America or Modern American Guide complete
With Joy!

Florence,

The subjects on the right side of the World Geography guide are as follows: :D
Logic
Boy/Girl Devotional Study
Bible
Literature
Composition/Grammar
Math
Science with Lab

The subjects on the left side of the World Geography guide are as follows: :D
World Geography
Living Library
World Religion & Cultures
Foreign Language (Spanish or your own selection)

As far as your plan goes, I'm not sure at this point how that would work out, as we don't have firm decisions made yet as to which subjects will go on which side of the guide as we progress through high school. I'm thinking along the same lines as you and guessing your plan would work, but I cannot be sure until the guides are written. :D

Blessings,
Carrie
