Anything I'm overlooking? MtMM for 8th, perhaps some 9th

Anything I'm overlooking? MtMM for 8th, perhaps some 9th

Hi all -

I could use some extra eyes. I was planning to call HOD to solidify all the choices, but thought with all the beefing up and highschool credit talk lately that it might be well enough just to post here. Thanks to Tree House Academy for all her hand-holding last week as I muddled through a lot of this. :)

We're getting ready to order MtMM for 8th. Due to the time of year, and if we can't end this by beginning of September, this might become a 8th/9th combo deal! :) We did an academic co-op previously that got us 1/2 year 'behind' on finishing our HOD curriculum...thus our new 'grade' starts now. It was a hard decision for me, but we are skipping Rev To Rev. I do like the thought of going into the high school guides with no tweaks. However, dd requested to take up some modern history after her last 6-7 years of what she calls "old" history. There were other draws for her like the nature journal, the chemistry, and not having as many audio cd's to listen to (she had a horrid time with liking voices on all the cds/audio books).

Here's our plan. What else should I add? Change? Is there anything I am missing? My main concern would be adding the right things if this goes into half of her 9th grade year. Which, it really could just be that from the start with where we are now time wise.

MtMM Economy with Pres. Study (I will beef this up IF it looks like we'll be going into 9th with this guide)
Economy package for needed items from Rev To Rev
MtMM Science Package (I will beef this up IF it looks like we'll be going into 9th with this guide)
MtMM Basic Package
WWTB 2 (dd doesn't like WWTB, so we're gonna do the Creative Writing from Rev To Rev first, but I still want to get this just incase she changes her mind)
R&S Eng. 6 (doing the full book with this guide)
No-Nonsense Algebra (possibly, not 100% sure on this one yet)

We're bypassing the individual state study. Dd did a semester of that at a co-op, and does not wish to do it again.

We're adding in Foreign Language for high school credit. And, I was going to add in 2 suggested economic books to gain high school credit there as well. We do a lot that could start going towards Home Ec so I will be meddling with that.

Dd did ask if we could do the Rev To Rev science once the MtMM science is done. So, that will be in our future somewhere down the road.

Thanks for any insight!

eta: I do need to pick out DITHOR books...forgot to add that in before.

I do believe you are set! :D You can easily add the extensions if dd needs them for ninth grade credit for history. :D RevtoRev's physical science has an advanced set for Exploration Education that is high school credit worthy. You could just do that instead right from the start if that is something that would fit better for dd's high school credits. :D My ds is enjoying WWTB 2 - I bet dd would too. :D He loves DITHOR and is sad to be finishing that this year. DITHOR can be counted for freshman lit credit, BTW, just choose higher level books. She'll be good on the grammar with 6. My ds LOVES the president study and the nature study this year. MTMM has been great. Sounds like you are set for your dd, but I'm sure others will reply too! :D :D :D

Thank you, Julie, for overlooking everything for me.

Another part of the draw to dd for MtMM was the nature study and chemistry. If we are able to fit in the Rev To Rev science later, we will definitely do the advanced option for credit. If it seems like things will take longer than I am originally planning, we will beef up other areas for high school credit.
