Hi all! I just recently found out about HOD curriculum, and I am very impressed with what I see! I am so excited to get started.
Here is my dilemma: I have an advanced 4 year old who is already doing Kindergarten level work, and a 7 year old who should be in 2nd grade but is still doing primarily 1st grade level work because she struggles with a reading difficulty. She has improved greatly since I withdrew her from public school, but she's still somewhat behind. I know she isn't quite ready for Bigger Hearts, so I have decided to teach them together with Little Hearts. Since they are at different grade levels, how do I go about doing this?
All advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi and welcome to HOD! If you are planning to combine, you will just want to place your kids in math, reading, and writing according to their skill levels. I'm short on time, but I'll tell you quickly what we do since my kiddos are similar in age and abilities to yours. I combine my just turned 5 year old and almost 7 year old in little hearts. My 5 year old does the guide as written with k resources except for 1st grade handwriting. My almost 7 year old also does the guide with 1st grade handwriting, but uses the beyond guide for math, spelling, and the emerging readers. HTH.
Grace and peace,
Alicia

Thank you, that did help some! I just added another post with more detailed info on dd7, and I wrote down the placement you suggested.
