Would this be ok?
Would this be ok?
Since we took the first half of the year off of HOD but we just kept on with the read alouds and the emerging readers we will be done with those really soon. We will be starting the last half of Beyond in Jan and I was wondering if we could just keep moving forward with the readers we bought for Bigger and the read alouds. Or would that be something that I need to wait on until we start Bigger. I figure the readers are ok I can just keep moving and then buy the next level but should I wait on the read alouds? I have tons of stuff here I can read to them if I need to. Do the read alouds go along with what is being taught in Bigger? I have not looked at that I guess I should go look at that.

Re: Would this be ok?
You certainly could keep going in the ER's or DITHOR for reading. As far as storytime read-alouds, Beyond and Bigger both schedule different genres throughout the guide. You could just choose a book for the genres that are scheduled in the part of the Beyond guide you will be finishing, and then in Bigger you just choose different books in each genre as they are scheduled. There are many to choose from.

Re: Would this be ok?
I did go looking after I wrote this post and saw there are so many options. I also have some of the books here that HOD uses and I could always do that.
Thanks for responding.

Re: Would this be ok?
You can definitely keep going with the Emerging Reader's Set, and you can with the BHFHG Storytime set, as well, just be sure you use the right genre with each unit of plans in Beyond, and you'll be fine.
When you get to Bigger Hearts, there are 3 Storytime options, so you can just use half of another set if you use up some of the titles doing Beyond. HTH!
