It still amazes me that people didn't like history growing up! History/Geography and Spelling were my favorite subjects as a child - still are for that matter.
I didn't totally realize until I read the pp that part of that could be due to my mom and her teachings. She made history fun, & while we didn't get a chance to travel far we went all over Texas and Arkansas, and even once made a trip to Vicksburg. Our homeschool group studied geography together with food, fun & games, and the written/oral book report, so that was a living approach I suppose.
The 2 things I hated as a child were Science and Math, and it does surprise me that I enjoy
most of HOD's Science readings, exploration, etc.
I still don't enjoy math. I have learned a lot from HOD skill wise, and what can be expected at each age. Art, is the other thing that HOD makes enjoyable.
Never was into it before, but a lot of times I join in on the project.
