Now that we know the sneak peaks are coming...

Post by homeforhim » Thu Nov 08, 2012 2:37 pm

I have to say I can't wait to see the plans for the writing and literature portion of the geography guide! :D My oldest will be ninth grade next year and while we are using Rev to Rev this year (and loving it), I am trying to plan the language arts portion for his first year of high school. I am wondering if I should use the left side of the plans from the geography guide and do the history from M2M as I don't plan on having him miss it and we haven't done any real (in depth) modern history as of yet in our homeschool. I am going to stay the course for the history but would buy both guides (M2M and geography) if I really wanted to have the other subjects high school level. Looking forward to the planning... :D

Blessings,

I am getting excited for the Geography guide too! :D I really like that the way Carrie has written the guides makes this kind of customizing possible. :D That was totally the Lord, as when she and I were talking so many years ago about how to set up the guide's plans, she ended up choosing to divide the plans into a left side "Learning Through History" portion and a right side "Learning the Basics" portion. Who knew that later, families would be able to customize their dc's learning by using the left side of one guide, with the right side of a different guide?!? God knew - that's Who! :D That was never our plan way back when Carrie was writing LHFHG, but He just orchestrated that so it would work. Anyway, yes, it will be interesting to see the Geography guide's writing come together, and you definitely will be able to use it with your high schooler! :D The aim is to help all dc be able to be prepared to attend college should they so desire to after completing HOD. :) Exciting stuff!
