Half-paced schedule for Beyond? Or even 3/4 paced??

Post by intotheirhearts » Tue Oct 02, 2012 9:42 am

Does anyone have a half-paced schedule for Beyond that they would be willing to share? Or even a 3/4 paced schedule??

You could do Beyond 4 days a week instead of 5, and that might be about 3/4 paced. Otherwise there are any number of ways you can go 1/2 speed. We went 1/2 speed for awhile with Beyond and we did math, reading, spelling, and copywork everyday. I split the rest of the boxes up between the two days, but I can't remember quite how I split them. It probably looked something like this (not in order we did them):

Day 1
math
reading
spelling
copywork
history
poetry
Bible
Day 2
math
reading
spelling
copywork
project box below history
Bible text only
storytime

I might have forgotten something. I am not at home where my book is right now.

We are doing 4 days a week already since we have a co-op on Mondays. But we can't seem to get everything done for any particular day in one day. So it is great to see someone's schedule with certain things every day and then certain other subjects broken up between 2 days. Thanks countrymom for sharing yours! That is what I needed in order to think about how to split ours up in a way that would make sense and that we could hopefully get done each day.

Please, continue sharing schedules!

Quite a few posters have mentioned 4 days a week. This worked GREAT for us. It added about 8 weeks to our year which was just right for us.

Maybe this past thread would help...

How does half-speed look in your home?

As the pp's have suggested, we too have enjoyed a 4-day a week schedule. This plans for one open day a week, and it just is a nice pace! :D You could do Beyond 4 days a week, and this will add 9 weeks to it. You could then do Bigger Hearts 4 days a week, and this will add 9 weeks to that. Then, you could do PHFHG half-speed for a bit, and finish it out full-speed. There are so many pacing options! My middle ds has done half-speed with different guides, and now will be on a fixed schedule do a guide a year starting with CTC (if that pacing continues to fit well  ) from January to Dec., with the summer off in the middle. I'd probably not look so far ahead, but instead enjoy a pacing that fits well now - and as these wise ladies already suggested - 4 days a week is soooo very nice. :D
