Spelling...

Post by momof3bs » Wed Jul 18, 2012 5:43 pm

This is our first year homeschooling and with HOD. I believe the spelling component for the children comes through dictation (we are doing CTC with a 9 and 12 year old). I am a little nervous that they won't be studying word lists...since this is what we're used to. Can someone explain the philosophy and reassure me that they will be developing good spelling skills? :D

I was so with you on the feeling the need for spelling lists! :D BUT, I am happy to say I gave them up years ago, and dictation has slowly turned my poor speller into a great speller that rarely makes errors, and my good spelling into almost a perfect speller. I really want to encourage you to give it a try! :D Here are some other great links in addition to Robbi's super link...
