AHHHH! That is the sound of the end to a smooth week.

I was a little afraid that I might have bitten of more than my daughter could chew. But my fears were not founded at all. She did so well! I had read over and over how long Preparing would take, but honestly we got through the lessons so quickly, even with all that drawing! Drawing has been one of my dd biggest problem areas, but she did great and never doubted herself. She's itching to read her history on her own, but I'm going to wait until she's 9yo, before I let her start taking that over.
Right now she is doing mainly review in math, so in a few weeks our day may take a little longer when I add in new math instruction. We will also be adding typing and Spanish, but I'm going to add things one at a time rather than all at once.
My ds started LHTH last week (while dd was at VBS) and it went well also.

He always says he doesn't want to do school, but he never gives me a hard time about getting things done. He especially likes doing artsy-craftsy things, so I'm super glad those types of activities are included otherwise I'd never get around to them.

He received basic instruction in ABCs and 123s last year so this year he is doing beginning phonics and R&S workbooks along with LHTH. Even with those extras he's usually done while my dd is doing her math, so it's super quick.
