Creationism vs Evolution
I hold the view of creationism. However, I do want my children to be aware of different views. I aim to prepare them to discuss intelligently and able to give an answer to anyone who challenges their beliefs. Do you think Heart of Dakota can help me meet this goal? What other resources have you used that compares/contrasts different views?

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
in the younger years it is fun, engaging, living science. as they mature it will still be fun, engaging, and white living, but the fallacies or evolution are exposed. we are already seeing.that in CTC unit 2 with the Apologia Land Animals book. One.of.the guides has a creation vs evolution FOCUS for science. HOD has been wonderful to expose our young kids to only truths and positive models to look up to. Then at the right level, they are exposed to false beliefs and the less than wonderful figures and events in history. At that point they are so rooted in truth they can stand firm in it while learning the rest...what the world believes. This topic will be covered very well and besides free reading.for enjoyment of Answers in Genesis books, Master Books, etc...we add nothing. we just enjoy reading those, and don't 'add' them to our studies. Also there are several book and movie suggestions in the Land Animals book in.CTC....many they note include evolutionary content. So tueres plenty of exposure, and honestly, there's exposure pretty much around every corner from.library story time to the zoo.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
We have found the same thing as Tamara to be true. Our year in CTC, especially, really gave a lot of info on the topic as we were studying Genesis. And, I do know that more on worldviews and creation vs. evolution is planned for future guides. I have loved the way that HOD is encouraging my kids to THINK as they learn. During our Bible Study in Genesis throughout CTC, there were several assignments that asked the students to prepare and give an answer to various questions and arguements that are commonly presented against creation. We spent time reading and studying the scripture and looking at the various philosophies that have risen in contrast to it. I loved the way that it encouraged the student to think on their own rather than giving them a "one right answer" quiz at the end. Because in real life, with real people, you have to consider how to speak the TRUTH in LOVE and know what you believe and why you believe it. So, yes, we have found HOD to be a great asset to us as parents in training our kids to be able to understand and defend their faith.

Re: Creationism vs Evolution
We have used HOD for 9 years with our oldest ds, and he is able to explain both creationism and evolution, as well as why he believes in creationism. He can support his beliefs with scientific evidence, while also standing firm on his steadfast faith in the Lord. I have not done anything except HOD to help him with this. I am so thankful for HOD, and I am thrilled my next 2 sons will have the same outstanding education - not only academically, but spiritually. HTH!
