Post by exodus4 » Fri May 04, 2012 8:46 am

Last year my son did Bob Jones English 3. Should I get R&S 3 or 4 in Preparing?

He will turn 9 in Sept. , just when I am planning to start Preparing.

He did very well in BJU and he also enjoyed Wordsmith apprentice which covers some writing &grammar concepts .

He could do R & S English 4 if you would like a challenge for him. If you would like some review, want to work on some beginning diagramming, and have some parts be a challenge, then R & S English 3 would be a good choice. :D As R & S English 7 and 8 are high school credit worthy, HOD advocates dc completing R & S English 6 by the end of Grade 8. Both R & S English 3 and 4 are scheduled full-speed in PHFHG, so either would work. It just depends on whether your 9 yo is the kind of student to really want a challenge in English, or whether you'd rather have a more middle of the road approach. Either is appropriate for a 9 yo. HTH! :D
