clarification on how extensions are used.

Post by MeadowWay » Mon Apr 16, 2012 7:00 am

Hello
I need clearer explanation on how extensions are used with an older child. I have a high schooler using CTC with extensions. It is my understanding we are to do everything in guide , plus the ext. ???????? or is it in place of????????
We are doing the science for the CTC BUT enhancing it with Biology 101 for a complete worthy highschool credit. so that part I get... It is the other I am unsure of.
Will await your replies and thanks for being a blessing.

I'd be glad to help! :D You want to use the extensions for CTC for your high schooler for sure, but you can decide whether to also use the Basic Package or not. CTC's Appendix lists the suggested assessments to use after your dc has read the extensions each day. You will also want to read through the ideas in this thread to make CTC high school credit worthy...

Then, you should be all set! HTH! :D

I will be doing the newest guide MTMM with my 9th grader and I will be using the extensions as written for high school credit, but using the Basic pkg books as additional reading and not doing anything more than having him read them for "enjoyment" of the time periods. If I was using CTC for high school credit, I would do the same, but with the additional things discussed in the thread Julie posted.
I've done all the guides now with at least one child and still feeling the HOD LOVE. LOL!
