CtC read aloud question

Post by anniam » Wed Mar 28, 2012 8:16 pm

I was wondering if we could go back and forth between the "History" read alouds and the "Girl Interest" read alouds ? There are a few books in the History read alouds I know my dd won't like and a few in the Girl Interest I don't want to miss. There are also a few in the History pkg I don't want to miss either. Can we pick and choose?

Thanks!

Absolutely! Just make sure you are picking a book that fits within the genre that is being assigned. Over the course of the year, you will read one book from each genre. Other than that, you have complete freedom to choose which books you want to use.

Also, the history read alouds match the history in the "Reading about History" box's readings, so when you are doing the history read alouds you decided to read, it would be neat to read them when they are planned in the guide so they parallel the other history you are reading. This will help you get the maximum enjoyment out of all the books you pick! :D
