Next year, I would like to incorporate my 10th & 11th high school students into the History portion of the Res to Ref program with my 5th grader. If possible, I'd like to use the MOH Vol 2 in addition to the extension books, and some additional high school level textbooks. Since I already own this book, does anyone know of a guide that tells when to use each lesson or is this same material covered in the other history books, thus the jump to MOH Vol 3? Vol 2 seems to have more info than the Table of Contents listed on the RtR sample pages, so I'm thinking this could help beef-up the readings for the olders.
I've also enjoyed looking over the suggestions for making the program more high school worthy. As a side note: the high schoolers are only planning to use it for History as we are doing a co-op class that is using the Medieval Lit program from Excellence in Literature.
Thanks for your help and suggestions! We are all looking forward to HOD next year. It looks SOOOOOOOO much more user friendly than the Tapestry program we used for Ancients.

Re: Res to Ref: Anyone used MOH Vol 2 with this?
I used MOH 2 and 3 together for a world history credit for my two high schoolers. I think it would be relatively easy to add MOH (for that age) to the first 13 or 14 weeks of HOD RTR. I don't know that I would worry so much about lining it up. If you don't hit things exactly at the same time, one of the programs will review the other. However, you probably could from the tables of contents if you so desired. We really enjoyed our year, and we didn't have the benefit of enjoying parts of the HOD program alongside. I am using HOD with my third child on down, and I concur that it is much easier to implement than other programs. I am so pleased with their progress this year. HOD makes me more consistent and fun!

THANKS Melissa!
I'm looking forward to purchasing the RTR at an April convention and starting the planning process. It's reassuring to know that I could just have the kids read it as it is published and review various overlapping topics. I was trying to figure out how to go through the topics as compared to the TOC in the sample, but it was inconsistent as to how many lessons they would need to read each day to make it match up. I like the idea of just going through it. Now I'm contemplating having them start it over the summer so they will be finished by the 14th week or so.
We can't wait to get started! The past few years have been draining, and we are looking forward to a more Charlotte Mason style that won't require 3 hours a day 5 days a week (just for history) plowing through dry academia style books that suck the joy out of learning.

That sounds like a good idea. It will keep things much more manageable during the school year.
