What is covered in Earlybird 2A and 2B...

Post by LeAnna » Sat May 03, 2008 9:30 am

I am just curious as to what all is covered in 2A and 2B. Is money, time, days of the week, addition? And, does anyone know if Singapore is supposed to be a grade ahead or right on track as far as grade level goes? :D
Love my husband of 18 years this year;
Love my 3 teenagers--13, 15, and 16. They keep me young, but hanging on for dear life!
Used HOD in the earliest years with all three of them!

You can go right to the Singapore Math site and look at each book, get info on what it covers, and also see online sample pages.

Hi LeAnna,

I noticed in the EB 2A,2B that addition, subtraction, time, money and days of the week are covered. I also see place value and fractions.
You can take a look inside the workbooks here:

Edited to remove link...I am not sure if it is appropriate to post an actual link but, you can view the workbooks inside at CBD.

Hi LeAnna!
Carrie has posted a list of all that is covered in 2A/2B in the Bigger... Introduction page. Here's a link for that:
http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/BHFHG- ... -07-11.pdf

Just arrow all the way down to the Learning the Basics section, Math, and you'll see it all listed out there.

LeAnna,

You're looking for Little Hearts, right? Do the same thing Julie suggested with this link...http://www.heartofdakota.com/pdf/little ... -intro.pdf

I know that I found a scope and sequence for all their elementary math programs on Singapore's website...just make sure that you find the US edition (not the Singapore or Standards edition). :D As I'm thinking about that though...I'm not sure that the Earlybirds are on there, maybe it starts with 1A. :? Here's the link, but it does start with 1A.

I think just looking at the intro for Little Hearts like Julie suggested will tell you what you want to know. (I used the scope and sequence when I was deciding which placement test to give Grant since he had done Saxon K-2)

Talk to you later!

Oh, thanks, Kathleen! I missed that was EB 2A/2B! I bet those math skills I linked looked pretty aggressive for a K or First Grader! :o

Singapore does have the samples for Earlybirds up. Once you click on the K books, you need to scroll down as they list the Earlybirds last...it might even be on the second page for the EB 2a/2b

LeAnna,

For Earlybird Singapore 2A/2B, you'll want to look at the scope and sequence link that Kathleen provided you from the actual guide "Little Hearts..". This is because we added quite a few concepts to the LHFHG guide that weren't covered in Earlybird 2A/2B. We did this to make sure that we were covering all of the state standards. So, to get a complete listing of skills covered in LHFHG math, you'll need to look at our scope and sequence.

 Blessings,
Carrie
