Beyond w/ 2nd grader

Beyond w/ 2nd grader

If I am using Beyond w/ a 2nd grader, do I purchase the English 2 that is sold in the Bigger set and add that in?

It is not necessary until Bigger manual - which is usually 2nd or 3rd grade. You could order it and use it (check the placement chart to make sure she is ready for it). Beyond does use spelling, copywork & gentle grammar on the 5th day of the program. It is a great introduction to beginning grammar. Example would be discussing sentence structure.

I am using Beyond with my 2nd grader(2nd son) and I did order the Rod and Staff English 2. He absolutely love it and we have fun doing almost all of it orally.

With my 1st son, we also did Beyond for 2nd grade, and I did not do the English 2 with him. The following year when we did Bigger, we went straight into English 3 without any troubles at all.

I think it works well either way.
