Has anyone done this?
We just began Beyond (we're loving it!) this month, so we're only on Unit 3. We'll be taking the summer off, so we'll have an 8-10 week break. Should we just pick up where we left off with Beyond next school year? It's where my boys fit best now and will most likely be a good fit next fall as well, but I wasn't sure about the big break. Is that odd to do or should I just go with it? We'd be on a schedule to do that every year though, and I'm just wanting to make sure it's not going to get complicated in the higher levels. Thanks in advance!

There are plenty of ladies here who just stop for summer break wherever they are, then pick right back up in the fall! I'm sure others will chime in, but I wanted to let you know that it should be perfectly fine!lovemythree wrote:We just began Beyond (we're loving it!) this month, so we're only on Unit 3. Re: Has anyone done this?
We take our summers off, and we have found it quite easy to pick back up wherever we left off. We have done this for my middle ds from LHTH to BHFHG, and it has worked just fine for him. It has been a Jan.-Dec. with summers of in the middle schedule for him, and he has done well. We have also done it with our youngest ds for LHTH, and that was just fine as well. The only thing I would not stop for 8-10 weeks in the middle is phonics. I think it's important to keep the momentum going with phonics. With that being said, my oldest ds has completed a guide every year from Aug. to May, and we've enjoyed that too. I think it is very flexible! HTH!
