Help!!How do I combine a K&2nd????

Post by blessed200 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 8:43 pm

Hi... First time here! I Love HOD, and I would like to see how I can manage it with 2 next year without having to do 2 guides. I have an emerging reader now who will be entering Kindergarten (he knows letters/sounds/small words, can add/subtract and write). My daughter just turned 7 and is reading at about a 5th/6th grade level, doing Singapore 2A, and is working on cursive...She is all over the proverbial map as far as grade level goes. I'd love to see how one guide could work for the both of them... Any thoughts? Sincerest thanks for taking the time to help... Erin

Hi Erin, and welcome to the HOD Board! :D A great way to see what fit is best for dc is to check out the placement chart. In general, it is best to choose a program with the youngest child in mind, and beef up for the oldest. Could you please check out this link to the placement chart and share your findings with us here? Then, we will all chime in with ideas. When using the placement chart, it is most important to consider the first page of the chart carefully, separately for each child, and then share your findings here, as that will help us give better advice for your specific dc. We have used HOD for 8 years, and all the guides are great - I think you'd enjoy it too. :D
