Purchasing More Than One Guide

Post by Homeschooling6 » Sun Nov 13, 2011 3:02 pm

I know this might sound strange but have any of you purchased more of one guide if you were having three children in the same program?

I am considering this for my three children who might use CtC next school year. The reason is, I can write their math pages or anything else they may need to do that day and they can check everything off as they go. They can take it with them and such.

Currently every week I am making out schedules in a lesson planner but if they all had their own guide I wouldn't have to do that anymore. I know I can have 1 guide and keep it at the table for them all to come and see what their next assignment is but to have their own seems to be nice

I don't mind buying extra, especially if it will keep things flowing and keep a record of what everyone is doing.

Just wondering if anyone has done this before.

Blessings,

I haven't done this yet since we are just in Preparing. I've been considering doing this from CTC on up though since so much of the work is independent. My two have been doing well sharing the guide for the independent things so far this year, but when so much of it is independent, like in CTC on up, it seems it might be beneficial for them to each have their own guide. I think if you can afford to do this, it would help your dc feel more ownership of the program and make the day smoother especially with 3 of them in the same program. If you do this, please let me know if you feel it works better. That will help me decide what to do next year. :D

I look at CTC on up as my dc's student planner, so I would definitely get each child using it his own guide with CTC on up. This is not a "have to", but a a definite "want to" for me. It gets used every single day for 140 days. I think that makes it worth the purchase, especially considering how many other purchases get used far less and are simply gone or used up in a heartbeat (i.e. free reading books, going out to eat, etc.). That's just my 2 cents though! :D

Thank you ladies. I think when we are ready to start I will go ahead and have each child have his own guide (even if it means purchasing one at a time :) )
